1. I taught myself how to read at age three. And I wrote my first story when I was four. It was about penguins. I should look into finding it. I've been wanting to post it for years, and I know it's around here somewhere.... :penguin:

2. I was voted "Youngest at Heart" in my high school senior class's superlatives for our yearbook. Nope, I don't have any plans for growing up in the future either. :#1:

3. I love to sing. Not that you'll ever hear me.... I don't know, I've been considering putting some stuff on the internet lately. I need a better microphone first though. Ask me real nice; maybe I will.

4. I never spoke a word until I was almost two years old. My mother thought I might be mute. It turned out I just wanted to learn exactly how to talk in proper sentences before I just started babbling simple words. Now she wishes I was mute. :giggle:

5. My username is twist on my mother's nickname, Beaner. My older cousin could not pronounce my mother's name when she was younger, and instead of calling her Darlene, called her Beaner. The name stuck. So I decided on the username Beansie some seven years ago when I first joined fanfiction. And now I'm just completely unoriginal and use variations of that for everything.

6. I don't like the taste of chocolate. Which makes me evil apparently, according to some parties.

7. I've never been kissed. I'm going to be twenty-one soon, and I've never had a boyfriend. I feel like I've missed a big teenage milestone. Shit, now I'm depressed. :(

8. Shit, I've gotta think of something cheerful...um.... I collect doors. ^^; I know this is really odd, but I love them. I have at least forty-two doors now, between stripping them out of old buildings going for demolition or from people giving them to me.

And of course the stranger the door is, the better. I just got one last weekend that was about eighty to ninety years old with two raised panels. It's only a foot and a half wide, but it's almost seven feet tall. So cool. :excited:

9. I have five pets, four of which are named after foods. Oreo (dog), Marshmallow (cat), Angel Fruitcake (cat), Sami Jo (cat), and Duck Soup (cat).

10. My favorite color is green. I love the color green. I don't know why. But I'm getting green contacts soon. And I'm super excited.

I'm not going to tag anyone with this...not unless they really want to do it. I can't imagine a reason why they would.

Kindle

3 min read
Yep. I finally got one. :squee: I haven't put it down in almost six days now, I'm constantly reading stuff from it! It is like the greatest thing ever, especially since I just learned how to put fanfictions on it. :excited: I can spend an hour on the computer now, collect a couple of fanfictions I've been wanting to read for years, and save them to the kindle to read later. And I don't get in trouble for reading the kindle like I did being on the computer too long. So many possibilities are open!

silverDeer I took your advice and looked up some Norse Mythology. I found a free book for the kindle, downloaded it, and I'm about halfway through it. I absolutely love it. It's really interesting stuff. Plus Thor in a wedding dress. Like for real. Thor. Wedding dress. Now that I must try to draw sometime.

In other news, my laptop is still shit and I still need a new one. :pissed: I'm hardly going on it anymore. Instead I'm using my mom's desktop, which means really limited computer time. :( But I'm still getting the important things done, so anywho.... I had another opportunity to try out Windows 7 and it went much better this time around. I didn't mind it at all. I think the first computer I tried months ago was crapped up. There was no start bar or my computer folder and nothing could be minimized and it was a bitch to find an internet thing to open and...well things are better now. :aww:

I've been getting a super amount of favorites as of late, and I just have to say thank you. Thank you guys so much! It's so weird to get the attention, and I really appreciate it! Thank you! :huggle:

I'm going for an eye exam at the end of the month and I need new contacts. I'm thinking about going with green, since it's my favorite color. Opinions?

P.S. I love my kindle!!! :w00t:

I just happened to look at the top of my page today, and I spotted that I've been on here for six years now. (Apparently I joined on International Talk Like a Pirate Day and on Hermione Granger's birthday.)

Oh the better things I could have been doing with my time. ;)

I went to see Lion King over the weekend and it was awesome. I felt like I was five years old again. :) Plus I had this little four year old sitting a few seat away from me, narrating the whole movie, which totally added to the experience. My heart went out to her when she realized Mufasa was dead. That poor child.

The battery to my laptop is starting to go, and I'm debating about getting a new one, or just getting a new laptop. The screen to my laptop broke about a month ago (apparently it is a common problem for my model, the screws are tightened too much and they pull against the plastic around the screen until it snaps :rage:). That's a big reason why I have been posting so much art lately and not updating my story. My laptop works fine, but it is no longer portable. It's a desktop computer basically. I can't take it with me, so I find other things to do to fill my time at the theatre waiting for the movies to be over.

I'm just not sure what I should do. I'll probably get a new battery and choke more time out of this thing. I really don't like the newer operating systems.

I have to go to the dentist in a few days for a cavity filling. Hello novacaine.

I'm just really not too happy right now.

Oh! And for anyone who lives in my area, I am offering FREE SHOWINGS to Nightmare Before Christmas this weekend only on Saturday and Sunday at 3PM! :squee:

So my mom's computer crashed last week from a power surge. (Same power surge took out quite a few computers in my area from what I hear talking to people.) We lost almost everything, including family pictures and business documents, but we were able to get a new hard drive and get it working again. I'm now busy installing programs and trying to get the thing up to running condition again and losing hours of sleep in the process. It sucks, we lost almost six years of family photos. I'm backing stuff up next time, definitely learned that lesson the hard way.

In the meantime, the last Harry Potter movie is coming out in like ten days...and I'm seriously not prepared. Harry Potter was such a huge part of my childhood and it's all going to be over soon and.... Don't get me wrong, I'm terribly excited to see the thing, and the music sounds wonderful for it, but...it's just so sad!

Might go cosplaying for the first time ever this fall, I hope it all works out. Does anyone (simple-minded-saul, I'm thinking you specifically) know of any links to quality costumes, wigs, etc.? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

So I watched it tonight. And I liked it. A lot. I will give a review, in smaller text with spoiler warnings so no one reads it if they don't want to, but anyway. It will be at the very end of this journal in small text.

Before that however, I must let known that I might buy a house. Or a couple. A bunch of century old houses (more like mansions) are going up for auction sale (bids start at $600-$900 depending on the property, wtf. AND all back taxes and leans are being taken away. Amazing). Some of them have been hotels and inns since the 1940s, and have had little done with them since.

I love a challenge.

I'm thinking about flipping them.

Yes, for real. I'm already in talks of working with a contractor.

Plus I've always wanted to live in the one, it's incredible. It was built in 1913 by a doctor and his wife who donated their original house to be the town's library (town tore it down in the 1960s, dumb people....) It has woodwork everywhere, and about twenty-four stained glass windows. Dear God, it's gorgeous. But the furnace and plumbing's probably shit (it was forclosed ten years ago, it's a pigeon coop and crack house now...actually, they're all crack houses and pigeon coops ^^;) Nub and tube wiring scares me, too.

I'm sick of looking at them, they're dumpy and disgusting. And directly across from my theatre, it's a crime! (If anyone knows me in real life, you have to know where I'm talking, if not...maybe I'll show pictures later).

Anyway, here's the Pirates review below. If you don't want spoiled, don't read any further.

...............LAST WARNING!!!!!

:iconspoilersplz: ::SPOILERS:: :iconspoilersplz:

Captain Jack Sparrow's back. Yes. He was too much of a drunken idiot in two and three for me, but now he's back to his turncoat ways. The fun for me in this movie is that I had to try to follow who's side Jack was on (but then of course everyone knows he's only out for himself anyway). I still don't know if he desired the Fountain of Youth more than the Black Pearl.

So the movie opens with these two fishermen, who drag a dead body onto their boat. Except it's totally not dead. Jumped out of my seat. This guy (I think he gives them information on the Fountain, I'm not sure, I had to leave the theatre to adjust sound, we just got a new sound system today, I'm still tweaking some things). Cut to a British city and a man is being drug into court to face trial as a pirate. This man is Jack Sparrow...or is it? I won't say anymore, but hilarity ensues, resulting in an eventual arrest and audience with...I don't remember the dude's name in the movie, but the actor was Richard Griffiths.

So after struggling for a cream puff, Jack Sparrow listens to Griffiths desire to beat the Spaniards on their quest for the Fountain. Griffiths has heard rumor of Jack's search for the Fountain, word says he's collecting a crew. Griffiths wants to help, and even supplies him with a Captain...Barbossa...naturally the two are pleased to see one another again. Jack escapes from the soldiers (I'll admit the climbing onto the chandelier for the cream puff was a bit much for me, as was the stupid soldier for setting down Jack's gun and sword, but I rather enjoyed the carriage chase). Barbossa is commished from Griffiths to set out for the Fountain.

Meanwhile, Jack meets up with Keith Richards and meets his doppelganger. His twin's been recruiting men in disguise as Jack Sparrow, and the two have an engaging swordfight together, which ends in Jack/Jack love...we all knew this day was coming after all. I'm still not sure if I was creeped out by this, or if I enjoyed it...I'll get back to you later.

Turns out the double was Angelina (Penelope Cruz), a woman from Jack's past. She is also Blackbeard's daughter (or is she, mwahahaha. I was seriously waiting for the whole story to be a lie, and for her to really be working with the Spaniards. Oh well....) She knocks Jack out, and he wakes up on Blackbeard's ship as a crewman. He's not pleased. He plans a mutiny to gain audience with Blackbeard, and it works. Love the voodoo doll, I want one.

Mr. Gibbs goes to work with Barbossa as he's memorized the map to the Fountain. Barbossa's totally using Griffiths though, he just wants revenge against Blackbeard. Blackbeard took the Black Pearl (it's stuck in a bottle now. A bottle! Who comes up with this shit) and also cost him his leg....

Btw, totally didn't like the prophecy. It was way too obvious. Maybe it would have worked in a Disney film intended for five year olds. Too predictable. "A one-legged man will kill Blackbeard within the fortnight...." Please...like there's more than one one-leggen man in the movie. Ugh....

The mermaids were creepy. CREEPY! I think I actually got a bit scared. They need a mermaid's tear to make the Fountain work...that and two silver chalices. But seriously the mermaids...they sing seamen into a stupor like the syrens in Greek myth before attacking them, pulling them under the sea to basically rape them and eat them down to the bone.... See, all mermaids are female, right....? Omg, I really think I was scared. Moreso than I was by the Kraken.

They get a mermaid anyway, and the writers do a romance thing between her and this one man captured by the the crew. He's a young clergyman named Philipe. And while I usually could really care less about shipping and cheesy romances, these two were cute for me. I'd really like to see them come back.

Barbossa and Jack fight each other for the two silver chalices later in the movie, until they realize that their desires are different and it really doesn't matter in the end who gets them. These just need to work together so Barbossa has his revenge and Jack has the Fountain. So see, they can be friends.

(I kept thinking they were on the cannibal island from number two though, I was waiting for a native or that dog with the keys to pop out somewhere).

They get to the Fountain, and so do the Spaniards, who proceed to destroy the thing in a big battle with the pirates. For them, the Fountain is against the Word of God, who gives life to man. The Fountain to them is a pagan relic which must be destroyed. And they succeed. Barbossa ends up poisoning Blackbeard, and Angelina in the process, and Jack is left with a difficult decision. He tricks Blackbeard into drinking the killing goblet, and allows Angelina to drink from the immortal goblet. She lives, and he leaves her marooned on an island with a pistol before leaving her again. He and Gibbs go off together, talking about treasures of gods in the possession of the Black Pearl ship in a bottle (annoying miniature monkey!) Barbossa takes Blackbeard's ship and crew...and I think that's about it.

Oh stick around for the end of the credits. Ha!

So I preferred this movie to number two and three (three especially, bleh), but it still not up there with number one. But I really didn't expect it to be, so that's okay. I found it pretty entertaining all the same. My biggest problems were logic things that probably wouldn't bug most people anyway. 3.5 out of 5 I would say for me, personally.
